Jostedalsbreen National Park and Briksdalsbreen

Jostedalsbreen National Park contains the largest glacier in continental Europe. However, the most visited glacier in the park is Briksdalsbreen, due to its easy access.

Spectacular views of the park

Leaving the park, I sat at the very last row of the bus, and took some of the best rearview photos.

In National Park's gift shop, there were postcards of the glacier from years past.  We were saddened by how much the glacier has receded in the last few decades.  I found a video on Youtube that shows this.

Sognefjord

On July 21st, 2009, we boarded a boat at Gudvangen, and sailed on Nærøyfjord, a branch of Sognefjord.  Nærøyfjord is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

From Voss to Flåm, Norway

On July 20, 2009, we went to Voss to take a train to Myrdal, and from there we took the train to Flåm.
The Flåm line is one of the steepest railway tracks in the world, and passes through spectacular landscape.

The train stopped midway, so the passengers can see Kjosfoss waterfalls.  However, my lens was clear for only a few seconds ...

... and then this happened.

The train passed by a few villages, some hidden in valleys like this.
