Gold Reef City is an amusement park built on the grounds of an old gold mine.
We arrived there early before opening, and there were many groups of students waiting outside as well. The kids were excited to see a group of Asian tourists, and started taking photos with us while waiting.
We saw a demonstration of how a gold bullion was made. Our tour guide had to ask other visitors who were not on our tour to see a later show, because this is an exclusive one for us delivered in Mandarin!
Just in case you have any thoughts of becoming rich quickly ...
We took the mine shaft elevator down to the old mine.
I have to admit that I was not listening to the detailed explanation that our tour guide gave. I was more interested in looking for photo opportunities.
Like this one with green helmets.
Or blue helmets.
And red helmets.
There were rides in the amusement parks.
And arcades.
And different booths.
More kids waiting to go in.
